The feeder is equipped with a footboard. As soon as an animal steps on it, the protective flap above the trough opens. When the animal leaves the footboard, the feeder closes.

As the weight of the flap is adjustable, mice, rats and other pests cannot activate the mechanism. The food is therefore completely protected.
